The Forgotten Ones- Review

This book is about a girl, Allison, who wants nothing more than to take care of her schizophrenic mother.  But what happens when she meets her long lost father? And is her mom really schizophrenic?

My Thoughts:

When I first read the blurb for this book I felt like I wanted to read it. But the book was confusing to me from the get go. It’s narration between dreams, realities, and situation changes didn’t work out as well as it could have. I feel this book has potential to be good. I’m just however not that into the story.

A small blurb from Amazon:

“Terribly unhappy in his family’s crowded New York City apartment, Sam Gribley runs away to the solitude-and danger-of the mountains, where he finds a side of himself he never knew.”

My thoughts:

This book details the accounts of a city boy living in the woods. What city boy ( or girl) doesn’t want to live in the woods. or at least run away from home from time to time?

I found the book to be beautifully written.  The story was very convincing and I often wondered if the story was more than fiction.  I found Sam to be a perfect representation of a child who wants to run away and live in the wild. Over all a really great book and I can see why this book is a favorite of Kenny’s.
